Shipping Update, July 10, 2023
9 months ago – Mon, Jul 10, 2023 at 11:54:29 AM

Hi, folks. Here's a brief shipping update. All packages to backers in the US, Canada, Mexico, UK, Norway, Switzerland, Israel and Asia have been sent out and are making their way through their various mail systems.

Packages to Australia and New Zealand have been sent out as well, with the caveat that 16 backers have been contacted about getting some of their add-ons in a later shipment. The short version of the issue is that we sent a bunch of games to Australia for backer add-ons, and for reasons we do not yet fully understand, the shipment arrived without copies of RDI 2, RDI 6 and RDI 8. We are FedEx-ing replacements, which should arrive at Let's Play Games next week, at which point they will send out a second package to each of the affected backers. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Packages to EU backers are scheduled to begin shipping from Germany tomorrow, July 11.

A reminder: if you don't have your expected rewards yet, please give the packages a bit more time to make their way through the mail systems of the world. We'll let you know (soon) when it's time to contact us to start tracking down problems. Thanks!

Fulfillment Update - June 23, 2023
9 months ago – Fri, Jun 23, 2023 at 10:42:40 AM

Hi again, folks. Here's where fulfillment stands today:

  •  US: Many, but not yet all, packages have been sent. Everything is going according to plan, though.
  •  Canada: Packages started going out on Wednesday, and will continue going out in the coming days.
  •  Australia/New Zealand: Unfortunately, our previous estimate of fulfillment starting this week was based on incorrect information - one of the incoming shipments of games that we believed to be in customs is, in fact, still on the ocean. Our new estimated fulfillment start date for AU/NZ is July 6. We're sorry for the miscommunication here, and we will keep you informed as we learn more.
  •  EU: Games are still being held up in German customs. Sadly, we have nothing new to report today.
  •  Non-EU Europe: Packages are now entering the fulfillment queue from ShipQuest's UK hub. As we said before, they are quite busy at the moment, but we hope to have an official start date from them soon.
  •  Asia: Everything is in order, and packages will be shipping out very soon.

As with the last update, the news is rather mixed. For those of you who have received your game, we hope you enjoy it! For those of you still waiting, we apologize for the trouble and we will keep you informed as we get more information.

As a reminder, if you don't have your stuff yet and others in your region do, don't panic. It takes a while to ship everything out. For each shipping region, we will post an update when it's time for backers to contact us if they still don't have their games. That time is still a couple of weeks away for ALL regions, even ones whose fulfillment is well underway. Thanks for your patience!

Shipping starting soon!
10 months ago – Wed, Jun 14, 2023 at 08:44:14 AM

Hi again, everyone. Thanks for your patience while we waited for games to make their journeys to various points around the world. As you probably already know, in order to do region-based shipping, the games must first be split up at the factory and shipped into each region. In our case, that involved shipping games to the US, Canada, Australia, China, the UK and Germany. That process has gone (mostly) well, so we are writing today with a shipping update.

  •  US: Games will begin shipping from Flat River Group in Michigan on June 15. Since there are nearly four thousand US backers, they expect the entire fulfillment job to take approximately two weeks. This means that some packages will ship out closer to the end of the month.
  •  Canada: Games will begin shipping from Pick and Pack Logistics in Ontario sometime around June 21.
  •  Asia: Games will begin shipping from VFI in China sometime around June 19. (Possibly a bit later.)
  •  Australia: Some product is still making its way through customs, but the TENTATIVE estimate is that games will begin shipping from Let's Play Games (in the Sydney area) around June 22.
  •  Non-EU Europe (UK, Norway, Switzerland) and RoW: Games are now in the UK, but if you've been following ShipQuest blog posts, you'll know that they're very busy at the moment. They currently estimate a ship start date in the last week of June or the first week of July.
  •  EU: Sadly, most of the product is stuck in customs. We do not yet have a ship start date from ShipQuest, but we will inform you when we do. Both SlugFest and ShipQuest are simply waiting on the German government at this point.

So, mixed news overall. We expect that packages to most non-European backers will enter the mail system by the end of June. That could still be true for some European backers as well, but pushing a bit into July seems more likely, unfortunately. We apologize for the delays.

After games have shipped out, we will post again with more dates. In particular, each region will have its own unique "you should have your stuff by now" date. In future updates, we will clearly state "if you live in region X and you haven't gotten your games yet, please contact us". If you contact us before that date, our most likely response will be "please keep waiting".

Thanks for your patience. We look forward to getting this game into your hands!

Addresses Locking May 19
11 months ago – Wed, May 03, 2023 at 09:11:31 AM

Hi, folks. Just a quick update on how ocean freight is going. Copies of Tales (and add-ons) are on their way to our various regional shippers (US, Canada, UK, Germany, Australia, China), and some are even starting to arrive there. We believe that most regions will ship on time, but unfortunately the shipment to Germany (for all EU backers) is a bit behind schedule. It is possible that games will still be able to ship to EU backers in June, but it may slip into early July. It will depend largely on how long it takes for the games to clear customs. We apologize for the potential delay and will do everything we can to prevent it, but the reality is that we're entering the part of the project where we have very little control over the process.

Overall, though, things are progressing reasonably well, so we're announcing today that we will be locking addresses on May 19. If you've moved (or if you're about to move), be sure to go to BackerKit and update your address! In addition, if you're a straggler that hasn't filled out your BackerKit survey yet, please do so or your rewards will be delayed. As usual, if there's a problem with your order, please contact us at [email protected]. Thanks, everyone!

More About BackerKit
12 months ago – Tue, Apr 11, 2023 at 04:21:48 PM

Hi again, folks. Two reminders about the Tales from the Red Dragon Inn pledge manager on BackerKit:

1) Unfortunately, it is possible to stop just before the end of the survey process, thereby leaving your order nearly complete but not quite. Here's the key piece at the end:

If you don't hit that "place my order" button, your order will be not be complete, and you'll be stuck forever in the land of email reminders bugging you because you haven't filled out your survey. This problem can happen even if you've completely filled out your survey, provided your address, and submitted credit card info. Here's how you can know whether you hit the "place my order" button: if you didn't get a confirmation email after filling out your survey, chances are you didn't finish your order. Similarly, if you think that you filled out your survey but you're still getting reminders from BackerKit about Tales from the Red Dragon Inn, chances are you didn't finish your order. Hit that magic green button!

2) Over 500 of you had the unfortunate experience of your credit card being declined. We get it, these things happen - especially when it's been so long since the pledge manager first opened. Many of you declined folks have already put in a new credit card and everything's working fine now. For those of you who didn't, please be aware that we will try charging cards again later this week, so now would be a great time to go into your survey and make sure that a correct card is in there. (And be sure to hit the magic green button while you're at it!)

As always, questions or issues should go to [email protected]. Thanks!
